Dungy: "Gay Bashing Must Wait"

Tony Dungy will return to coach the Colts for one more season, saying that he has enough passion to balance the three loves of his life: family, football, and gay bashing. Dungy still has that competitive fire burning in him, and realizes that he still has plenty of time to go before he devotes his life to making sure that homosexuals do not have the same civil rights as everybody else.

"There is plenty of time to clean up those filthy queers," is probably what Dungy meant to say.

Dungy's announcement on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday seemed very fitting, as the good doctor is probably very pleased that people like Dungy are totally mangling his message. Dungy also relishes the chance to prove once and for all that he is one of the most overrated coaches in NFL history. Hell, he lost to Norv Turner in the playoffs. That might be enough to motivate anybody to come back.

It would be hilarious if Peyton Manning came out of the closet.

Even better when Tony gets caught with a gay prostitute.

Ho hum, another slam against Tony Dungy. Funny-funny, as always; never gets old. Make fun of the man because he under-performs in big games, because his son offs himself, because the man identifies with a faith that you have no use for. Call him a fag basher or queer smearer or whatever it is you want to distort about his beliefs. Even your ironic speculation about the timing of the announcement of his return for another season, on MLK Day, who, by the way, didn't have much use for the gay lifestyle either http://news.minnesota.publicradio.org/features/2005/01/17_williamsb_wwmlkd/
Tony Dungy is a classy individual and doesn't have to dignify the constant insults to his integrity. The NFL is lucky to have a guy like him coaching instead of the likes of people like Dennis Green, or Brian Billick, or Mike Tice, or Rich Brooks, or Barry Switzer. There are enough scum-bags in the NFL to shame, Tony Dungy isn't one of them.

Uh, Yiddish, did you actually read the article you posted? It looks like you didn't read it past the first couple graphs. You might want to go back and have a look before presenting that as your evidence that Martin Luther King was a homophobe.

From your article...

Of course, no one knows for sure what King's position would be on same-sex marriage. But King's widow Coretta has said publicly that she believes her husband would have supported gay rights.

But of course, you knew MLK a lot better than his wife did.

Terry Schiavo is right!!!

I still stand by my claim that Dungy's head resembles that of Soda Popinski.

Ah Yiddish...if it looks like a biggot and talks like a biggot he's probably thumping jesus as the reason for his own shortcomings.

Yeah, you're probably right there anonymous (errr... Terri). Ask the 80+ year old widow the question and you might catch her in a weak moment and say anything you want to hear. At least that's the impression i'm getting from King's daughter http://www.alternet.org/story/20732/ and his niece http://people.maine.com/paula/pph/pph-2.6a.98.html
But, what do I know. I'm just another intolerant bigot supportin' a good 'ol Fundie.

We are roasting a dead owner of a football team. I don't think there are any lines left to cross.
