The Weak Ender

Donovan McNabb has Mike Vick's back. The embattled Eagles quarterback is publicly supporting Vick during his time of need, when the rest of the world is hedging away from the dog fighting promoter.

"I'm a supporter of Vick," McNabb said Tuesday at Lehigh University. "That's because I'm a good friend of his and also we're guys that obviously compete to win the Super Bowl. We push each other. Now, I don't know exactly what happened in that situation, and I think for all of us that have read over the stuff that was over the Internet, the report, you look at it as kind of like, 'Wow, you've got your so-called friends and family members turning their back on you now to make their situation better.' They're throwing you under the bus so that they can clean their name. That's unfortunate. That goes to show, I always have a saying that I've always lived by: If you can't trust family, who can you trust? It's an unfortunate situation, and I just hope everything works out well for him where he can get back out on the field."

This is just another loser McNabb is backing, just like his own candidacy for Eagles starting quarterback. Seriously, was this guy trying to prove that Vince Young isn't the dumbest QB in the NFL?

Blonde
will love that.

Hat tip: AOL's The Fan House.

AND FINALLY
(Shut up) Did anybody see the story of the camp counselor who pulled all of those kids off the bus following the bridge collapse in Minnesota? Anybody else get the feeling the guy was just pulling a "Costanza" and the kids just followed him out? Now way this YMCA version of K-Fed was out to rescue kids.

Is McNabb supporting Vick b/c he thinks he's innocent, or b/c he thinks brothers should hang together no matter what sociopathic behavior one displays? If it's the latter, I think the black community got a pass on supporting dog fighting when Rev. Al joined w/ PETA on this issue.

Aren't QBs supposed to be the smart guys on the field?

I can kind of get with sticking up for your friend. But after reading the 18-page indictment and everything, how can you do that? And how can you do it publicly when you play in an industry where public relations is, unfortunately, a priority? That's just a bad call.
