Let's be fair to Rex Grossman

Rex Grossman was horrible on Monday night, coughing up two fumbles and threw an interception. Fans, and not just Bears fans mind you, along with alleged sports pundits are piling on the guy to suggest a quarterback change. But nobody would ever consider making a change at quarterback if Rex's last name was Manning.

As bad as Rex was on Monday night, Eli Messiah played a very similar game on Sunday, as he lost two fumbles against Raven. Grossman and Messiah both completed a high-percentage of passes, Eli tossed a touchdown, while Rex ran one in. But nobody (other than THN) is advocating a quarterback change in New York.

And Rex has played in the Super Bowl.

Not really a fan of either quarterback, but if you are going to give the Messiah a chance, then Rex really needs to be afforded the same opportunity.

I wonder how long before Bears fans want to bench "Sexy Rexy" once more...

Exactly. Grossman might blow, but at least he appears to enjoy blowing. Here's hoping he and the Bears continue to blow for a long, long time.

Lay off Eli, he's leading the G-men to a Super Bowl this year! It even took Peyton a few years to settle down.

C'mon Adam, how are you going to defend Rex at the expense of Eli? It's like saying that dog shit tastes better than horse shit. Apples to Apples...so to speak.

They both suck. Eli has a 10-cent head, and Rex's arm turns into a Ramen noodle when the pressure is on.

No post on Eli shooting back at Tiki and his comments?

I'm a huge Giants fan, but Tiki is a shithead.

Adam, forgive the off topic post, but I'm really starting to think you were right about the Angels' inability to score runs. I don't know what I was thinking.

WSS-- That's the problem. Eli and Rex are the same guy. They both blow. But Eli is continually given a free pass because of his name, but everybody is piling on Rex.

Now I hate Eli Manning as much as the next person but the days of Eli getting a 'pass' are over. Eli stinks and Rex stinks, but the big difference is that the G-men are not that good overall. The Bears have a great defense and good offensive players except for one glaring blemish: Rex Grossman. That's why people harp on him more than Messiah. Even if Messiah picks it up, do you really think the Giants are suddenly going to be awesome?

The Bears' D gets a lot of respect for a squad that gave up Super Bowl rings to Gomer and Reverend Fred Dungy. I don't remember Grossman being on the field for any of those 29 points the Bears gave up.

Brain Urlacher is an overrated pile of shit.

I hope the whole Giants' team comes out to join Tiki in bitch slapping Eli. Once Eli and Papa Manning made the big show about refusing to play in SD because it wasn't a big enough market to showcase Eli's "talents", he set himself for all the abuse that can be dished out at him.

Plus, he might be the least attractive quarterback playing in the NFL. Damn, that boy is ugly.
