Milwaukee, It's a Hell of a Town

The Angels and the Cleveland Indians will have its series moved to Milwaukee because of the cold temperatures and snow. Now, not being Dallas Rains, shouldn't Cleveland open on the season at Seattle (dome) and Anaheim because it might be a touch on the cold side? Nice job, geniuses.

Milwaukee, has had its share of visitors over the years. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century.

And isn't "Milwaukee an Indian name?

Yes, it is. In fact, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

Obvious? Yes, but you would disappointed if it wasn't done.

Hey dere Adam, come here once. You're makin' fun of my hometown, hey? Well, even that old swabbie Chief (from down dere by Cudahy dere) knows you pronounce it "M'waukee". Anyway, we appreciate the chance to go by Miller Park to see some major league baseball, since we seen none since 1982, ain'a?

Why Milwaukee? I could think of so many nicer places.

That would have been a great idea, but the Mariners don't play in a dome, remember.Good god man, its not 1990.

Doesn't Safeco have a retractable roof?

Yes, but it's not a dome.

Does this guy know how to party or what?

I sympathize with you guys.

How is it not a dome if it has a freaking roof? What do you call it, a convertible?

mookie said...

It's not a dome because Seattle doesn't play with a permanent roof on top, most of the time the M's play with the roof open. I should know this because I live 25 minutes from Seattle.

Fair enough. But isn't there a train station in center field?

I'll have you give me a tour when I come up there this summer.

Seitz said...

Section 126, Row 25, Seat 10. I'll be there.

Tonight, anyway.

There is a train station near Safeco, but if there's one at Center Field, that's a problem.

Do they get to use Bernie Brewer?

Why Milwaukee? Isn't it obvious? What other venue would Bud Selig give extra revenue to?

Hmmm...maybe you should get off the Matterhorn in centerfield once in a while Adam. Scioscia is the worst manager in baseball. Love when the bat is taken out of your hands and you are 4-4. The Indians bullpen is a joke, Scioscia should be hung.

That was horrific. Bad, bad move.
