Does anybody care any more?

The day following Duke's loss in the tournament shold be declared a national holiday. Not that this outcome was a surprise. Everybody not on the selection committee knew Duke was going to lose.

But at the same time, who do you root against now? How about the world's oldest freshman, Greg Oden? Long Beach State?

I went to school with Greg, so what the hell...

... and yes, up until his senior year, he was IMO the most overrated athlete in the country

Still waiting for you to cover the biggest sports story of the day, dude. UC Riverside's looking for a new coach!

I picked Duke just so that this would happen. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

How about that gap-toothed, cheerleader-swatting asshole Joachim Noah?

Greg Oden has a kid in high school. I demand a birth certificate. Ohio St is so overrated.

So yea, I'm rooting against Ohio St and Florida.

At least Barbaro didn't have to live to see this.

I'm rooting like I always do, against every team in the ACC. Duke is just the worst of these teams, but Maryland, UNC, and BC are nearly as hatable.

Grant Wahl over at sports illustrated says that one of the things we learned yesterday was that "[t]he ACC is the nation's best conference. . . . Thursday's games have only ratified the ACC's superiority: both B.C. and Maryland were solid in their victories. . . ."

Was he watching the same tournament as the rest of us? Duke looked like dogshit and Carolina nearly blew a 27 point lead against Eastern Kentucky. And Maryland was "solid" in its victory? Really? Did he see that game? Until Marquette's evening steampile, Maryland was the recipient of most of the "you sucks" I heard.

And hey, the Big Ten is 3-0. Just sayin'.

Wisconsin somehow managed to get out of that mess. But they'll lose to UNLV.
