Art Shell To Be Fired?

It is hard to believe, but rumors say that Art Shell could be let go at the end of the year. Seriously. It's not like Al Davis to admit a mistake. Or to pay a coach for not working. But it looks like that is going to happen.

A lot of you are likely clamoring for a return of Norv Turner because if Shell deserves a second chance, why not Norv? But expect Rob Ryan to be the next coach because he will work cheap and because he will work cheap. Can this guy lead the Raiders? Probably not. But if he keeps John Shoop as offensive coordinator, he's doomed.

But with Shell likely gone, that makes the second person THN has gotten fired this year, following Steve "The Bish" Bisheff.

What's your source? This sounds made-up...

It may sound made up because NFL Adam claims "he will work cheap and because he will work cheap."

Sounds fishy to me...

God, when John "Poop" Shoop was the man running the ice-cream-truck that was the Bears offense under Jim Miller, it was incredibly frustrating to watch from the couch on Sunday mornings. Picture every single third-and-long ending with your tight end getting tackled by about 5 guys after catching a 2-yard ball in the flat.

Awful.

However, and while this might have been Jauron's doing, the Bears did run the best fakes under Shoop. Whether it was sending men in motion before fake-punt passes, having the punter throw shovel passes to Urlacher, or running the kicker-holder option on fake field goals, it was a joy to watch.

it's legit -- there's a vid of it on NFL.com

Don't say we want Turner back. Nobody wants him back. That's like saying you want Ryan Leaf back.

Jeezus cripes, the word verifications are up to 8 and 9 letters. I can barely do that sober. Ziulquan? Sounds like something Rush Limbaugh's housekeeper brings home from Denny's!

I just wanted to reiterate the most important qualification to be a Raiders coach. If Shell if fired (and we talked about that in the WE), Davis will hire the cheapest available candidate.
