David Carr: Dude, I'm So Bummed!

Imagine you are David Carr today. You did everything you could to ensure that your team would land Reggie Bush in the 2006 NFL Draft. You even pulled a “Al Czervik” in the season finale to ensure that your competitive nature wouldn't get the best of you, and lead you to a victory over San Francisco. Then Houston-native and Texas hero Vince Young declared himself eligible for the 2006 NFL Draft.

Bummer.

There is no chance the Texans pass on Young. No chance. The Texans can now build on a team with Young and running back Dom Davis. Hopefully Carr will find Arizona far more hospitable.

Young said that he came to the decision to turn pro after a meeting with his mother and pastor. Who is his pastor, Jerry Falwell? Oral Roberts? Maybe his pastor was told he would be recalled to heaven if Young didn’t turn pro.

But seriously, there is no reason to believe that Young won’t have a successful career as all running quarterbacks such as Fran Tarkington, Randal Cunningham, and Mike Vick. And with so many scrambling quarterbacks winning Super Bowls recently, Young should have the Texans in the big game in no time. Who should the Texans take first? Talk about it in the Hater Nation Forums.

I'm with you guys. Why pick Bush when Dom Davis is already an established back?

But for a team that only won twice and has little, if any direction, picking Young would be far too practical.

Instead they're gonna go with Bush, making him probably the smartest, most popular Bush, in the city of Houston.

Houston decided to pick up an option for $8 million on Carr. If they're stupid to do that, they've bought them another year of sucking. Even with Reggie Bush. Seeing Reggie in the Rose Bowl showed that he might not be such an impact player as many thought. He can run outside but he isn't a proven inside the tackle runner.

He was on the sideline when it was 4th and 2 and the game was on the line.

He didn't single handly carry his team on his back like VY did.

But Bush was known to "push" his team to victory.

Hey, Benny! Do yo really think that if Norm Chow was still running the offense at USC, Reggie Bush would have been on the sideline for that 4th &2 play in the Rose Bowl?! Not a chance.

But is Bush a short-yardage back?

They still take Bush. Or trade out, and pick up Brick.

I don't believe that the Carr option is a done deal until Feb. 15 (we could be wrong). That would still give them some wiggle room. Dan Reeves has told them to stay with Carr. But public pressure could mount in Houston.
